The Hackathon Mobbeel Innovation Challenge 2026 returns to Cáceres on 22 October with a new edition where artificial intelligence, ideas and investment come together. Over nine hours, students and technology enthusiasts will turn an idea into a real prototype at Garaje 2.0, taking on three new challenges and discovering two new features that will shape this year’s edition: AIdea and MobbInvest.
Almost every great technology story starts in the same place: a garage (in this case, Garaje 2.0) and a handful of people willing to try something new. That is the setting Mobbeel chooses for its hackathon each year, and this edition comes with two new features: AIdea and MobbInvest.
What is the Mobbeel Innovation Challenge?
The Mobbeel Innovation Challenge is a no-code hackathon built around the idea that you do not need to know how to code to create something new. You need curiosity, good questions and the willingness to give things a try.
But what exactly is a hackathon? It is an intensive challenge where people work together over a limited period of time to develop an idea or find a solution to a problem. It is about turning theory into practice in just a few hours: thinking, testing, making mistakes, changing direction and reaching the finish line with something you can show.
At the Mobbeel Innovation Challenge, this process is open to people with different backgrounds thanks to its no-code format. You do not need programming skills to take part. You can bring an idea, a different perspective, a particular skill or simply the willingness to build something new with other people.
And this is where artificial intelligence comes in. Not as the protagonist, but as another tool in the creative process.
The AIdea of the Hackathon Mobbeel Innovation Challenge
AIdea is the wordplay behind this year’s edition, bringing AI and idea together in a single name. It also sums up Mobbeel’s view of the role artificial intelligence should play in the challenge. AI is another tool to create, test and explore quickly, never a substitute for the judgement of the person behind the idea.
That distinction makes sense in 2026, when anyone can generate a prototype in minutes using AI. What the Hackathon Mobbeel Innovation Challenge 2026 judges is not how much AI a team has used, but what they choose to do with it. In other words, which problem they choose, what they leave out and how they turn their idea into something real.
From idea to prototype
You do not need to know how to code or arrive with a fully developed proposal. The format is designed so that anyone can get involved:
- Mobbeel presents three new challenges at the beginning of the day. Each team chooses which one to tackle.
- Teams are made up of 5 to 6 people. You can register as part of an existing team or on your own. If you come individually, the organisers will help you find a team.
- Nine hours of guided work, with training, tools and mentors from Mobbeel’s engineering, research and product teams.
- Each team presents and defends its proposal in front of a panel of experts, who assess creativity, innovation, feasibility and investment potential.
- All participants receive a certificate with a verifiable QR code, which can be used to demonstrate skills such as problem-solving and generative AI.
MobbInvest
The big new feature of this edition is MobbInvest, a dynamic that brings the investment process into the development of the projects themselves. While teams build their AIdea, the other participants and mentors become investors, distributing 500 million fictitious units in the form of Mobbs, the event’s own currency, among the other teams’ proposals.
There are two investment rounds. One takes place during the working session and the other after the final presentations. Nobody can invest in their own team, so everyone has to look at the other projects through the eyes of a real investor, assessing both the journey and the final result.
The AIdea that attracts the most investment wins the Unicorn Award. There will also be a special award for the best investor: the Golden Investor Award.
€1,050 in prizes
There are three prizes for the best projects of the day, plus two more linked to the new MobbInvest dynamic. And there will be a few surprises that we will reveal on the day itself.

Taking part is completely free and includes food and coffee throughout the day. The event takes place on Thursday 22 October, from 9:00 to 18:30, at Garaje 2.0 (Calle Santa Cristina, 2, Aldea Moret, Cáceres). The venue is accessible by bus on line 8 (Santa Cristina stop), by car or on foot from the city centre.
All you need to bring is a laptop or tablet and a willingness to interact, share ideas and build something new.
