This certification is granted in accordance with the requirements set out in Royal Decree 311/2022 of 3 May, which regulates the National Security Framework for Electronic Administration in Spain.
What is the National Security Framework (ENS) and what is its purpose?
The National Security Framework (ENS) is the regulatory framework that defines the core principles and minimum requirements that Spanish public administrations — as well as the technology providers working with them — must meet to ensure the proper protection of their information systems and the data they handle.
In an environment where public and private digital services are increasingly interconnected, the ENS serves as a key benchmark for guaranteeing the confidentiality, integrity, availability, authenticity, and traceability of information.
The framework was created to bring coherence and consistency to cybersecurity measures across the entire public sector. It’s not just a technical standard — the ENS establishes a security governance model that promotes a culture of information protection throughout every organisational process.
To meet these objectives, the ENS requires organisations to implement a set of organisational, operational, and technical measures based on the assessed security level: basic, medium, or high.
