BioWallet2Browser (EN)
Firstly, because with BioWallet2Browser your passwords will never be stored in your browser; this way, a user who has access to your browser cannot steal your identity, because the information is stored on your phone and it’s only sent to the browser at the time of use, ruling it out automatically.
In addition, data stored on your phone is encrypted and only accessible using your biometric identity, through handwriting signature recognition. Even if someone has access to both your computer and your phone at the same time, your passwords remain safe and secure inside BioWallet.
You can use the full service while it is in beta phase without paying anything. And if you like it, you can keep using it by registering on premium option. The cost of premium is not decided yet, but it will be cheap ;)
The browser’s extension download and the necessary applications for your phone are completely free of charge.
BioWallet2Browser first version is available for Google Chrome, although Safari and Firefox extensions are already under development and expected to be out soon. In the future we plan to develop new versions for various other browsers such us Internet Explorer and Opera.
If you want to keep in the loop for the new version, compatibility with other browsers, etc., you can subscribe to our mailing list where we will keep you informed.
Data exchanged between phone and browser always travels over a previously established secure channel. Moreover, that information travels encrypted with a key that only the two ends (phone and browser) know, and which is completely new for each request. That’s why, even if the information was compromised in the middle of a communication, a potential attacker would have no way of decrypting it. In this link you can see a diagram of how the system works and how data travels across it
Our servers act as simple gateways for the information and do not store any kind of data from the communication. And, in any case, the receiving and forwarding information is encrypted with a key that servers do not know at any moment of the process.
BioWallet2Browser needs an Android device running 2.2 version (nicknamed Froyo), because it uses some features only present since that version. Additionally, your device must have the Android Market app installed for the service to work.
Remember that you must use the same Google account for both mobile application and browser extension.
BioWallet2Browser uses the Android Cloud Device Messaging service by Google to send data to your phone. To use this service you must be logged into the same account you have configured in your Android phone. However, Mobbeel neves has access to this login information; the page you use to input your Google credentials is not ours and it’s Google who verifies them and lets you pass or not. We only delegated with the identification input step in Google systems.
