We are very excited to announce that the current beta of the BioWallet Signature application has been launched to Android Market. Significant changes have been made to the signature recognition process. We hope you find it much more accurate.

This version includes some features that betatesters suggested us besides many fixed bugs.

We have created a new communication channel to hear your voice (http://biowalletsign.userecho.com/). With this tool you will be able to browse other user’s suggestions, comments, vote them or post your owns. Also, you will have the good old mail (support@mobbeel.com) or Twitter (http://twitter.com/biowallet) if you prefer it.

To support the costs the free version, the app will show some ads. We are working on a “premium” version with extended functionalities. We still need your collaboration to know how much better (or not) it is the recognition process, so we would be grateful if you could answer the question that will be asked after each successful or failed authentication. Also, if you collaborate sending us these usage statistics (no personal information will be collected) you will avoid the advertising that is shown otherwise in some screens . You can change this behavior whenever you want with the “Settings > Usage statistics” option.

You can download the APK directly from the Android Market, searching “biowallet” or following the qrcorde of this news. Alternatively, you can download it from here (make sure the option “Settings > Applications > Unknown sources” is checked in your phone).

Please uninstall any previous version you may have (you can export your data and then import them in the new version, but be careful because attachments are not currently saved).

Mobbeel has been invited to pitch at TechCrunch Mobile 2010 at Barcelona, in February 17th during the Mobile World Congress. Also part of the team will attend to MWC for the first time for promoting our biometric recognition technology for mobile devices.

This event brings together some of the most innovative mobile startups in Europe with major investors in the sector. Our CEO, José Luis Huertas, will perform a 3 minute pitch about our technology and its possibilities.

Under the slogan of “Vision in Action”, the next Mobile World Congress will feature over 1,300 companies presenting products and technologies. In addition, it provides a meeting point between different companies in the mobile industry where the most innovative mobile solutions and initiatives worldwide.

In 2009, Mobile World Congress hosted 47,000 people in 182 countries. Over 50% of them were senior executives and 9,000 of them representing mobile network operators all over the world. In addition, more than 2,400 journalists attended the event representing more than 1,500 groups in 76 countries.

Another important change with respect to previous releases is we have removed all the copy limitations (time, IMEI, …). Now the application doesn’t expire and can be freely installed or distributed and this will continue when it is in the market. To support the costs the free version will show some ads and we are working on a “premium” version with extended functionalities.
